If a person doesn’t laugh — if they lack a sense of humor — don’t expect anything creative from them.

Why?
Because humor is all about telling the same story two or three times… and then flipping it.
A twist. A surprise. That moment you didn’t see coming. That’s what makes people laugh.

And that same surprise is at the heart of creativity.

Creativity is the ability to look at something ordinary — something familiar — and suddenly see it from a completely different angle.
To take a situation, an object, or a problem… and rethink it.

If someone can’t do that with a story, how can they do it with design? Or ideas?
They won’t. They can’t.

This ability — to flip, twist, reimagine — it’s either in your nature or it’s not.

So here’s a simple rule:
Don’t expect original ideas from someone who doesn’t smile.
